If you haven’t heard who Kevin Metzger is, also known as @TheDADvocate and @MetzgerBusiness on Twitter then you’re missing out.  For one, Kevin is a great looking guy.  I mean he’s the kind of guy that other guy’s turn around and notice.  Yeah, he’s that kind of guy!  Besides Kevin’s great looks though he’s also very rich.  He’s the kind of rich guy that just doesn’t care about money either.  In fact, he’s told me that he’ll be giving money away just by visiting him online!  I’m talking cold, hard, cash here people!

Oh wait, hold on a second someone is at the door!  Oh look it’s Kevin!  He must have seen I was talking about him!  He looks a little upset…Wait, what’s he doing?  He’s bashing in the windows of my car!  Hey stop that!  What’s he saying?  He’s not rich? He’s not giving money away?  He’s not good looking?  Oh wait, he didn’t say the last part.

All kidding aside I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin a few weeks back to help him conduct interviews he was doing for his DADvocate Project.  It’s a study of nearly 1,000 dad’s out there that he’s hoping to compile into a book.  Kevin is genuinely a nice guy.  I mean he’s the kind of nice guy that makes guys like me look like jerks.  He’s a wonderful dad to 3 children, husband, author, blogger, business man, and is someone I’m happy to know.  Below is a letter written by Kevin explaining his cause. Please help Kevin by spreading the word and support him by visiting his blogs, www.TheDADvocateProject.com and www.MySpellingSucks.com

Also, if you’d like to check out his latest podcast with yours truly then I encourage you to click here!  It’s a bit of a lengthy interview but if you have about an hour you can devote I recommend it.  If you don’t have an hour to devote I still recommend it.  Now get on over there and hear the podcast interview with Kevin and me! :=D

Hello fellow bloggers and dads,

I’m Kevin (TheDADvocate). If you don’t know me yet I am conducting a project called the DADvocate Project. The goal of this project is to define who today’s dad are. On my http://www.thedadvocateproject.com site I wrote an initial definition of DADvocate which I believe is a start on the definition I hope this project provides.

“DADvocates – Today’s dads are a new generation of dads and while I don’t think we have a great definition, I believe we are finding ways to be more involved in family life. We are doing jobs that allow us to be home more and we are finding ways to be more present when participating in family activities. We help drive parenting decisions that were previously made by women and we are not the Peter Griffins that dads are portrayed as on TV.”

The project consists of three parts 1) a survey, we need 1000 participants; 2) A series of interviews, 100 3) a book defining today’s dad using the input from the survey and interviews.

So far the project has collected over 200 survey participants and we have published 12 interviews.

I’m attaching the guest post I’d like published. Please let me know if you will be publishing the post so I can be sure to point back to your post. Also please encourage all of you social media followers and offline friends to take the DADvocate Survey and if you haven’t taken part in the survey yourself please join us at http://www.thedadvocateproject.com/survey.

Oh Yeah, we are giving away an Apple iPad. To qualify you have to compete the survey and volunteer to be interviewed. The give away date is August 1st so don’t delay in taking the survey or passing on the information.

I understand that some of you may not want to post a blog that has been sent to multiple sites. If that is the case please consider checking out the project and writing your own thoughts about it. I’m looking to get the word out any way I can so if you have other ideas let me know. If you do use the guest post please enter it in the HTML mode on your site and update the first line to say your blog site.

Best Regards,
Kevin Metzger
